Open Philanthropy recommended a grant of $40,000 to Rethink Priorities to support a workshop where scholars from animal welfare science, pain science, and philosophy will identify ways to empirically measure how welfare threats that vary in severity and duration affect overall welfare in farmed animals.

This follows our March 2021 support and falls within our focus area of farm animal welfare.
