Open Philanthropy recommended a grant of $3,000,000 to the Centre for the Governance of AI (GovAI) for general support. GovAI conducts research on AI governance and works to develop a talent pipeline for those interested in entering the field.

This follows our December 2021 support and falls within our focus area of potential risks from advanced artificial intelligence.

The grant amount was updated in July 2024.
