This fund supports efforts to accelerate economic growth, boost technological progress, and reduce unnecessary obstacles to prosperity, primarily in the United States.

Scientific and technological advancement are essential drivers of economic growth that have significantly improved living standards and reduced global poverty over the past few centuries. But too often regulatory frameworks and institutional inertia — even when well-intentioned — create artificial constraints that increase costs and impede progress. Our work targets both policy reform and strategic initiatives to accelerate innovation while removing these unnecessary barriers, creating more abundant opportunities for human flourishing.

We currently fund work in land use reform, where we have helped to seed some of the largest pro-housing YIMBY groups in the country and in innovation policy, supporting organizations that identify and implement ideas to accelerate the pace of scientific and technological development.

We are also exploring new opportunities in permitting reform, clinical trial design, and other fields where targeted policy changes could unlock substantial social value. In addition, we’re supporting the growth of the Abundance and Progress Studies movements, which bring together policymakers, researchers, entrepreneurs, and philanthropists from across the political spectrum who share an ambitious vision for advancing human progress.

By working to remove artificial constraints in key sectors and fostering a more dynamic innovation ecosystem, we aim to create sustainable conditions for human flourishing and material prosperity.

This work is funded through the Abundance and Growth Fund, which receives funding from Good Ventures, Patrick Collison, and others. Read our blog post announcing the fund here.
