Santosh Harish

Program Officer, South Asian Air Quality

Santosh leads our grantmaking in environmental health within our Global Public Health Policy Program. His work currently focuses on particulate air pollution and lead exposure. Santosh joined Open Philanthropy in January 2022 to lead our South Asian Air Quality Program, before expanding his role to cover a wider breadth of environmental health issues.

Prior to this, he was a researcher in air quality governance at the Centre for Policy Research, New Delhi and the India center of the Energy Policy Institute at the University of Chicago, and did post-doctoral fellowships with J-PAL South Asia and Evidence for Policy Design. He has a B.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras and a Ph.D. in Engineering and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University.
