Research Fellow, Global Health & Wellbeing Cause Prioritization

Philipp joined Open Philanthropy in August 2024, where he works on the Global Health and Wellbeing Cause Prioritization and Partnerships teams, with a focus on identifying cost-effective funding opportunities. Before joining Open Philanthropy, Philipp worked as an Economist at IDinsight in Nairobi, where he led decision-focused research projects for clients in the global development sector. He holds a Ph.D. and Master’s degree in Economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Maastricht University. Philipp’s academic research has studied personnel economics in the context of Sierra Leone’s National Community Health Worker Program and the general equilibrium effects of cash transfers in Malawi.
