Michael leads Open Philanthropy’s Government Relations team. He joined in March 2025 after two decades in public service in the United States Congress, most recently as Chief of Staff for Senator Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ). There, Michael served as the senator’s primary strategic advisor and managed one of the most effective policy, communications, and outreach teams in the US Congress, helping to craft and pass major bipartisan laws, including the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, the CHIPS and Science Act, the Safer Communities Act, and more. Michael holds a BA in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, and a MBA from Georgetown University.
