Melanie joined Open Philanthropy in May 2024 and supports the Effective Altruism Global Health and Wellbeing program. Prior to joining Open Philanthropy, she was a Senior Research Manager at Rethink Priorities, where she oversaw research on a variety of global health and development topics. Before that, she was a Research Analyst at Charity Entrepreneurship. She holds a PhD in Neuroscience from Harvard University, and a Micromasters in Data, Economics and Development Policy from MITx.
