Holden Karnofsky sets the strategy for and oversees all longtermist cause selection, prioritization, and grantmaking at Open Philanthropy, including our work on global catastrophic risks. Holden co-founded GiveWell in 2007, and began co-developing Open Philanthropy (initially called GiveWell Labs) in 2011. He has a degree in Social Studies from Harvard University.
